Pushing is great. But what do you do if the enemy laner tries to stop you? To understand how challenger players beat lower ranked players, you'll have to learn about trade timers.
This concept has consistently given my students INCREDIBLE results in laning phase. Leading them to win more games.
There are 2 key trade timers in the laning phase, and we have all heard it a thousand times. I'm willing to bet reading this right now you already know what they are.
The first one, and less important from my experience is: Trade when the enemy laner is going for last hits. When you have to go for last hits, it is very easy to predict how you will move, since you have to stand still to auto attack. This concept is useful, but it is NOT the most important trade timer.
The most important trade timer is: Trade when the enemy laner is on cooldown. It seems obvious. If the enemy laner is on cooldown, they will not be able to trade — they are simply tankier caster minions.
I want you to take note whenever you see the enemy laner use a spell, and try to abuse it. This paired with the previous concept of always pushing the wave, will make you win laning phase.
The key to making this concept successful is taking it in steps. First, you need to recognize when the enemy laner is using spells. So, for the next 10 games, your only goal in the laning phase should be noticing when the enemy laner uses spells. Then in the following 10 games you need to play aggressively when you notice they use spells. After 20 games you'll see incredible results.
